Candidates, Parties and Others

Whether you are considering candidacy yourself, starting a political party or thinking of engaging in third party advertising, the following section of information will be invaluable to you.

In each section you will find information on election finances that is intended to be an easy reference for chief financial officers and others involved in the financing of political activities in Ontario. Most of the people involved are volunteers.  They are the people who make the system work.  This information is provided mainly for them.  The Election Finances division can function efficiently only with the assistance of this informed stakeholder group.

Also available are two other publications on fund-raising activities and political contributions.  This information is a ready reference, but the Election Finances Act is the final authority.

Feel free to browse. Learn more about election legislationpolitical advertising, the election calendar, financial statements and political contributions. Or find relevant information for candidates, political parties, constituency associations, third parties and leadership contestants.
